Faculty of Electronics, Photonics and Microsystems

Obligations of a student returning from abroad

A student returning from an exchange program abroad must settle the scholarship in accordance with the requirements of the agreement. For this purpose, the student should provide the required documents to the Center for International Relations.

Crediting the study period
At the Faculty of Electronics, Photonics and Microsystems, the student submits an application to the Vice-Dean for Student Affairs for crediting the period of study abroad and copying the grades obtained at the foreign university (according to the formula). The application should be submitted immediately after returning from the exchange trip. The application should be completed in electronic form, in accordance with the instructions provided in the template. The accepted and copied grades shall include only those for courses completed in accordance with the approved ICS program. The application must be submitted together with a Transcript of Record from the foreign university (original or a copy certified by the Center for International Relations).
The data provided in the application must be verified by the program Coordinator. For this purpose, they should be submitted in room 1, building C-5. After the Coordinator approves the application, the student contacts the Vice-Dean for Student Affairs with a request to copy the grades. The student should bring the approved application, the Transcript of Record and the current ICS program.

Rules for determining credit points and grades
The application for crediting the period of study contains a list of courses with assigned credit points and credit/examination grades. The rules for determining the credit points and converting the grades are set out in the Faculty Regulations. The Regulations can be found here »

Conditional registration for the semester
If the student did not receive the results of credits and exams from the foreign university by the time of registration for the next semester, they may be registered conditionally. This conditional registration entitles the student to enrol on courses and continue studies. After receiving the results, the student must immediately credit the period of studies abroad, under the penalty of having their conditional registration cancelled. The decision on the conditional registration is made by the Vice-Dean at the request of the student.
