Diploma examination

General information about the diploma examination

At the Faculty of Electronics, Photonics and Microsystems, the course and organization of the Diploma Examination in individual fields of study and specialisations are coordinated by the Secretaries of the Diploma Examinations Committee, who carry out the activities listed in Dean’s Directive ZD 11/2020-2024.
If the supervisor of a particular diploma dissertation was appointed to the Diploma Examination Board, the diploma candidate is obliged to inform the supervisor about the date and place of the diploma examination.
  1. The diploma examination in stationary mode.
  2. The diploma examination in remote mode.
  3. Application for taking the diploma exam in remote mode.
  4. Scope of the diploma exam:
    - fields of study (1st and 2nd cycle studies) Automatics and Robotics (AiR), Electronics (EKA), Electronic and Computer Engineering (EAC), Electronics and Telecommunications (EiT), Intelligent Electronics (IEA) and Mechatronic Microsystems Engineering (IMM – only 2nd cycle studies):
    The student reports the most important aspects and results of their diploma dissertation in the form of a presentation (5-8 minutes), then answers two questions from the list.
    - Mechatronic Microsystems Engineering (first-cycle studies):
    The student reports the most important aspects and results of their diploma dissertation in the form of a presentation (5-8 minutes), then answers three questions from the list.

Final grade for studies

In accordance with the Regulations Governing Studies at Wrocław University of Science and Technology
§38. Grades for studies, final result for studies:
The final grade for studies is calculated according to the formula:

0,6·Os+0,2·Od+0,2·Oe

Os- average grades obtained during studies

Od- evaluation of the diploma thesis

Oe- grade from the diploma examination


The final result for studies is determined according to the principle:

up to 3,199 dostateczny (satisfactory)
from 3,200 to 3,699 dostateczny plus (satisfactory plus)
from 3,700 to 4,099 dobry (good)
from 4,100 to 4,539 dobry plus (good plus)
from 4,540 to 5,5 bardzo dobry (very good)

 3. Conditions to be met to obtain “celujący” (excellent) grade:
a. The average grade for the entire course of studies is not lower than 4.650;
b. The diploma thesis has been awarded with at least the grade “very good”;
c. The diploma examination has been awarded with at least the grade “very good”;
d. At least one of the grades referred to in points (b) and (c) is the grade “excellent”.
