General information about the diploma procedure
Detailed information on the diploma procedure at the Faculty of Electronics, Photonics and Microsystems can be found in the Procedure for organizing the diploma process available in the Employees (Pracownicy)/Dean’s Directives (Zarządzenia Dziekana) tab.
1. The composition of the Diploma Examination Board, a minimum of three examiners, is established from among the academic teachers in a given field of study; according to the following recommended principle:
- Chairperson – an academic teacher at the Faculty of Electronics, Photonics and Microsystems (FEPM), having the degree of habilitated doctor or the title of professor,
- Member 1 – FEPM academic teacher employed as a reader, an assistant professor, a university professor or a full professor,
- Member 2 – FEPM academic teacher employed as a reader, an assistant professor, a university professor or a full professor, in particular the Secretary of the Diploma Examination Board,
- Member 3 – Supervisor of the diploma dissertation submitted by the diploma candidate.
2. Due to the specific character of the selected fields of study, it is possible to make more particular arrangements or deviations from the principle of establishing the composition of the Diploma Examination Board provided in point 1:
- Mechatronics/Mechatronic Microsystems Engineering – the Diploma Examination Board consists of at least four examiners. This composition should include one representative of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and one representative of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, both from an approved list.
- Control Engineering and Robotics and Electronics – in the transition period, i.e. until the academic year 2023/2024, i.e. when students who had started their studies in the academic year 2020/2021 will be examined – it is possible to keep the composition of the Diploma Examination Board previously approved at the Faculty of Electronics, with the consent of vice-rector for teaching. It is also possible to appoint new Diploma Examination Boards, according to the guidelines of point 1 with additional restrictions*:
– Chairman – an academic teacher from FEPM (AEE) or from FICT (AEE or ITT),
– Member 1 – FEPM (AEE) academic teacher or FICT (AEE) academic teacher if FICT Chairman (ITT).
* FICT – Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, AEE - scientific discipline of Automation, Electronic and Electric Engineering, ITT – scientific discipline of Computer Engineering and Telecommunications.
3. The diploma examinations for a given field of study/specialisation is organized with the support of Secretaries of the Diploma Examination Board. List of the Secretaries of the Diploma Examination Board.
4. The recommended scope of activities carried out in relation to individual diploma candidates by the Secretary of the Diploma Examination Board for a given field of study/specialisation includes:
- setting dates of diploma examinations for individual diploma candidates within the deadlines of diploma examinations indicated in the Diploma Schedule, at a minimum of seven calendar days before the date of the examination,
- setting the composition of the Diploma Examination Board,
- submitting the set compositions of the Diploma Examination Boards to the Dean for appointing,
- updating the Edukacja system with the Diploma Examination Boards appointed by the Dean, at least seven calendar days before the date of the exam,
- printing out protocols from the Edukacja system for the Diploma Examination Board,
- printing Cards for Calculating the Final Grade for Studies; depending on the particular field of study/specialisation,
- arranging and preparing the room for the diploma examinations,
- entering grades into the Edukacja system after the diploma examinations,
- delivering documents to the dean’s office after the diploma examinations.
5. The Secretary of the Diploma Examination Board for a particular field of study/specialisation decides what file format the multimedia presentation about the diploma dissertation should be in and how it should be delivered to the Diploma Examination.
6. The appointed Diploma Examination Boards:
WINTER semester 2021/2022 – first-cycle studies, second-cycle studies
SUMMER semester 2021/2022 – first-cycle studies, second-cycle studies
WINTER semester 2023/2024- first-cycle studies, second-cycle studies
