Faculty of Electronics, Photonics and Microsystems

A few words from the Dean

Rafał Walczak

Dear Sirs and Madams

Our modern technical environment is changing practically every day.

A competitive economy based on knowledge and the digital society need modern systems and products based on broadly understood electronics, automation and robotics, as well as on information technology. Industry 4.0, the Internet of Things, automotive industry, medical technology, smartphones and everyday gadgets are just some of the areas around us, in which the physical (electronic) object cooperates with the virtual world (information).

The Faculty of Electronics, Photonics and Microsystems integrates its employees within the discipline of Automation, Electronic and Electrical Engineering. Highly competent staff as well as unique research and teaching infrastructure allow the Faculty to cover a very wide range of issues related to electronics, automation and robotics. The Faculty thus invites an extended scope of interdisciplinary modern research and teaching aspects which correspond to the needs of the modern economy and society.

Dear Students,

Starting from the academic year 2021/2022, the Faculty of Electronics, Photonics and Microsystems offers, "under one roof of electronics", several fields of study which are of key importance for the development of our country and in line with the National Smart Specializations, Lower Silesia Development Strategy and the development directions for education in the European Union. These are:

Automation and Robotics;
Electronics;
Electronics and Telecommunications;
Intelligent Electronics;
Mechatronic Microsystems Engineering;
Electronic and Computer Engineering;

Within one Faculty, you have the opportunity to study in several fields related to modern electronics, automation and robotics – from issues related to microelectronics and microsystems, through analogue and digital technologies, applied photonics, acoustics, automation and robotics with elements of artificial intelligence. Each of our candidates will find a fascinating topic and a field of study worth pursuing. Student research clubs allow you to extend your knowledge and skills, engage in extraordinary projects and make new contacts.

See you at lectures, exercises and laboratories at the Faculty of Electronics, Photonics and Microsystems.

Yours faithfully,
Rafał Walczak
Dean of the Faculty of Electronics, Photonics and Microsystems
