Health insurance

1. Student / doctoral student - a foreign national who is a citizen of:
- a member state of the European Union,
- a member state of the European Free Trade Agreement (EFTA),
- United Kingdom
is entitled to free health care services provided by health care providers who have concluded agreements with the National Health Fund on the basis of a valid European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) issued in the country of origin.
2. A student/ doctoral student who is not subject to compulsory health insurance on other grounds, including, but not limited to:
- due to employment based on an employment contract,
- contract of mandate (if the student/doctoral student has reached the age of 26),
- insurance with a spouse who has his/her own title to insurance
is subject to compulsory health insurance. Registration is carried out by Wroclaw University of Technology (applications should be submitted to Ms Kamila Foremny (kamila.foremny@pwr.edu.pl), only at the student's request, upon presentation of the validity of the Card of the Pole or the consul's decision.
3. A student/ doctoral student who is not a citizen of:
- a member state of the European Union (EU),
- Member State of the European Free Trade Agreement (EFTA),
- United Kingdom,
- who is not recognized as a person of Polish origin within the meaning of repatriation regulations,
- does not have a valid Card of the Pole, and at the same time is not subject to mandatory
health insurance on other grounds,
may insure himself with the National Health Fund by signing a voluntary insurance agreement and pay the health insurance premium on his own.
In order to sign the agreement, one should apply to: Dolnośląski Oddział Wojewódzki NFZ z siedzibą przy ul. Joannitów 6, 50-525 Wrocław.
