Robotic Arena 2026 – last Saturday saw major robot competitions held in bldg. C-13 of Wrocław University of Science and Technology.
Last Saturday, April 25, the corridors of the Polytechnic “Cheese Cube” once again turned into a space for robot battles during one of the largest robotics events in Poland, attracting great interest from both competitors and spectators.
During the 17th edition of the Robotic Arena competition, visitors could see as many as 300 machines competing against each other and take part in AI workshops.
The crowd was especially excited by the Combat category, featuring robots equipped with saws, blades, and hammers fighting inside enclosed arenas. This year, the organizers decided to set up two such arenas.
Speed and precision were key in the races known from previous editions: LineFollower Drag, LineFollower Turbo, and LineFollower Light.
In the highly popular battles inspired by Japanese sumo wrestling, spectators could watch robots of various sizes compete, ranging from just 12.5 mm up to 20 cm.
A new addition was the demonstration category Whiteboard Challenge, created in cooperation with the Mechatronics and Robotics Student Association “Synergia.” Magnetic robots moved across vertical whiteboards, drawing specific shapes with markers, which were later evaluated by a vision system.
Additionally, participants could attend workshops on the application of artificial intelligence in robotics, led by students from the CyberTech Student Association.
This year, 307 competitors from countries including Poland, Spain, Greece, China, and Malaysia registered for the event.
The main organizer of the tournament is the KoNaR Robotics Student Association. Competition results are available on the association’s website.
