Polish ICT Triangle

Date: 23.09.2025 Category: Faculty life, Student affairs

The Polish Information and Communication Technology Triangle (ICT), linking Wrocław, Opole, Łódź, and Katowice, will focus on building a joint investment offer, connecting R&D facilities with businesses, and creating the right conditions for high value-added industries such as IT and semiconductors to grow. In doing so, the ICT Triangle aims to attract major international projects and strengthen the region’s visibility on the global technology map.

The Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Equipment Manufacturers’ Association (TEEMA), one of the largest industrial trade groups in Taiwan, has recommended that Taiwanese entrepreneurs invest in the ICT Triangle.

Wrocław University of Science and Technology, with its strong scientific and educational potential, will support this innovative project in the fields of information technology, artificial intelligence, and electronics — the most advanced areas of modern technology.

The Dean of the Faculty of Electronics, Photonics and Microsystems, Prof. Dr. Hab. Inż. Rafał Walczak, spoke about electronics, and more specifically, about research in the field of semiconductor devices.

Prof. Walczak emphasized that this research requires highly sophisticated solutions and proper training of personnel.
“There can be no modern digital society or Industry 4.0 economy with cybersecurity without knowledge of and access to technologies related to the development of semiconductor devices,” he added.
