Sukorno Asad, a graduate of the prestigious Imperial College London, has been pursuing his doctoral studies at the Doctoral School of Wrocław University of Science and Technology since October. In addition, he is advancing mid- and far-infrared laser technologies at the Faculty of Electronics, Photonics and Microsystems.

The UK-based doctoral researcher conducts his work within the u.MIR group, led by Dr. Maciej Kowalczyk from the Department of Field Theory, Electronic Circuits and Optoelectronics. The team specializes in the development of ultrafast and ultra-stable mid-infrared chromium-based laser systems.

The group also collaborates with the team of Nobel Prize laureate Prof. Ferenc Krausz at the Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics.

Together, they are developing mid- and far-infrared laser sources for applications in the spectroscopy of biological systems, including research aimed at the early detection of cancer.
